Simply put, there are two ways to get a free Colltrain account. 

The first one is to sign up with a Google account and get a hobby plan free for life. 

The second one is to sign up for a free trial using a credit card. Both options will be explained in this article.

Start with a Colltrain Hobby plan

As simple as creating an account, no credit card is needed.

All you have to do is follow these steps:

Step #1 – Go to Colltrain’s website at www.colltrain.com 

Tip: Right-click the link and click “open in new tab” to be able to follow this guide hassle-free.

Step #2 – Click on the “Start free” button on the top right corner of the site

Step #3 – Click on the blue “Sign up with Google” button. You will arrive at this page.

Step #4 – Choose “Sign up with Google” or “Sign up with Microsoft”

Tip: You can use outlook.com, hotmail.com, live.com or msn.com accounts. School or Business accounts don’t qualify at the moment.

Step #5 – Sign up by filling in your information and authorising Colltrain. Next, you are invited to create your organisation in Colltrain.

Step #6 – Congratulations! You have created your very own Colltrain account for free.

You can now use Colltrain within the specifications of the Hobby Plan.
While using the service, a pop-up might inform you that you are now on a Hobby plan.

What are Hobby plan’s capabilities?

With a Hobby plan, you can :

• Access Colltrain’s standard activity library
• Open up to 5 rooms 
• Invite a maximum of 6 participants per room
• Open rooms with up to 2 teams
• Experiment with the Facilitator and Designer role
• Create a maximum of 4 new design
• Use the free Colltrain account for your online training
• Make the magic happen in your training sessions

Start with a Free 14-day trial

With this method, a credit/debit card is required, and you can upgrade or cancel anytime

Step #1 – Go to Colltrain’s website at www.colltrain.com

Tip: As mentioned in the first method, right-clicking and opening the link in a new tab will make the process more convenient.

Step #2 – Click the “Pricing” link from the menu of the website. You will arrive at this page.

Step #3 – Choose your preferred currency

Step #4 – Click on the “Get free” button on the Free Trial plan (on the right)

Step #5 – Choose between monthly or annual payment -“Free trial (monthly)”/ “Free trial (annual)

Tip: You can also find answers to many FAQs on this page.

Step #6 – You will be redirected to 2Checkout’s (now Verifone) website. Here you can select a payment method and fill in your registration data.

Step #7 – You will soon receive a message from 2Checkout to confirm your order and an email message from Colltrain that invites you to start the onboarding process. Just click on it and follow the instructions.

Step #8  – Congratulations! You have started the free trial, and you now have your very own Colltrain account. Try it out!

We recommend you start with the second method, “Starting a 14-day free trial”, because:

• It offers you access to Colltrain with no limitations for full 14 days
• You can upgrade or cancel during the trial period
• You can maintain access after cancellation with a Hobby plan.
